- Restricting Commands

A walkthrough of how to restrict commands to certain roles, channels, and/or members.

Many people have asked whether we will add a DJ role like some other music bots, and the answer will always be the same for the foreseeable future: no. This functionality is already built-in to Discord, so it will not be added to prevent redundancy. The following tutorial will explain how you can achieve this same (and improved) functionality with Discord Integrations.

Understanding Discord's Integrations

  1. Find the settings tab in the dropdown at the top left corner of your server.

  1. Click on the "Integrations" tab under the APPS category in your settings menu.

  1. Under the "Bots and Apps" category, find GEEK Music and click "manage".

Restricting Commands to a Role:

This method works for any roles, including roles managed by Discord and other bots. This makes it a great way to give commands to Nitro boosters, verified members, or based on a user's activity with stat/level managing bots!

  1. In the "Roles & Members" tab, click "Add Roles or Members".

  1. Select the role you want to restrict commands to and click "Add".

  1. In the same Roles & Members tab, switch permissions for @everyone off, and on for your desired role.
